In the last six months, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the normalcy of daily life. We’ve gone from commuting to our offices to making comfortable office spaces at home. Work schedules have undergone massive changes, with people balancing work and daily life from one space. The same thing has happened to writing schedules, with the distinction between your work and a dedicated writing schedule blurring considerably.
But how has writing changed during the pandemic? A lot of writers find the time to write more and find time for research because of the home environment that they are in. Writing about strategies to build followers or positivity and success is a bad idea in times like these. A lot of writers are following the same schedules that they were following before the current situation. But since writers are working from home, the old ways of writing and creating writing schedules don’t apply right now.
A multitude of writing communities have formed online and have grown into healthy spaces where writers can critique each other’s work, offer feedback, writing advice, and understand the finer points of the very craft of writing. The pandemic has not affected the online writing space at all, in fact, it has increased a writer’s dependence on it.
