NaNoWriMo 2020 has officially come to an end. After endless hours of writing, staying up late, and dosing yourself with coffee, you have to figure out what to do now. Here’s what your December might look like more or less:
#1 Finishing your novel
For those who have finished 50k words in 30 days, good for you! But a lot of you might have a few thousand words left, and that’s what December is for!
- Figure out when you have major chunks of time. It might be during the wee hours of the night or at the crack of dawn, but mark those huge chunks of time in your calendar. We’re not saying that use your every waking moment to complete the final leg of NaNoWriMo, but devote a majority of your free time to it.
- Make a writing schedule. This writing schedule will be different that the one you’ve been following all month, because it will take into account the limited time you have instead of the whole day.
#2 Getting feedback from your friends and family
- Once you finish your book (or even most of the chapters), ask a trusted friend to read it and give you feedback. Make sure that these select few people of yours like reading books, and especially have read your work.
